Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review ♡ Twenty Fourteen

Yesterday I swung by Sephora with my roommates, and I could not resist picking up the new Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette! I played around with it earlier this afternoon, and I'm loving what I see so far.

Packaging

I loved the box that this baby came in--- super fun and adorable! I think the design is pretty eye-catching & it stands out on the shelf for sure.

Inside, the palette is shaped like a chocolate bar. It's pretty compact so I think it would be relatively easy to travel with, and the lid is magnetic to prevent any shattering.

Andddd, the inside! How pretty! I love palettes with mirrors on the inside because they're great for popping into a purse or traveling. I also really like the sleekness of the shadows and how they're placed in the palette. I think making the highlight colors slightly bigger then the other shadows is a good idea as well, for I tend to reach for new highlight colors all the time and they're usually the first shadows to hit pan. The palette comes with a film on top, with all the shadow names. Personally, I would change this detail and somehow have the names printed in the palette, just because it's easier for makeup bloggers (and gurus alike) to have the names handy when writing a post. Other then that, the last part of this palette that I simply adore is the fact that the shadows actually SMELL like chocolate (which sounds totally crazy, but I swear I've made everyone in my apartment smell it so I know it's not just me haaa). They smell sweet, look sweet, and now it's time to see how they pay off. But first...

Close-ups

Swatch time...

Gilded Ganache- a goldy-green brown with lots of shimmer, perfect for a smokey eye
Salted Caramel- light matte brown, great to define your crease or use as a transition color between shadows
Hazelnut- shimmery warm brown, would be a great shade to define your lower lash line
Crème Brulee- shimmery deep browny- champagne, perfect for a sparkly lid color
Haute Chocolate- shimmer deep brown, great for an outer V shade
Cherry Cordial- as beautiful as it's name sounds, a deep maroon-brown with a bit of sparkle
Champagne Truffle- sparkly champagne highlight, great to be packed on the lid or used as a cheek and brow bone highlight
Marzipan- a goldy- champagne, reminiscent of Stila's Kitten
Semi-sweet- a matte chocolate brown, basically the shade of semi-sweet chocolate
Strawberry Bon-Bon- a pretty matte baby pink- would be fun to use on the lower lash line or as a lid color
Candid Violet- a sparkly purple with silver shimmer
Amaretto- a shimmery copper, a beautiful crease shade
White Chocolate- a matte cream, reminiscent to Urban Decay's Foxy
Milk Chocolate- a matte light brown, basically the color of milk chocolate
Black Forest Truffle- a gorgeous deep cherry brown with lots of sparkle
Triple Fudge- a deep deep brown, reminiscent of Mac's Espresso

My favorites so far would have to be Haute Chocolate, Cherry Cordial, Marzipan, Amaretto & Black Forest Truffle.

The pigment pay off of these shades are amazing as well! I'm so excited to start using this one, and I hope to get an eye tutorial up with this ASAP!!I would definitely recommend picking up this palette if you're looking for this family of colors, they're all really so pretty and of excellent quality. This palette retails at $49 dollars at Sephora.

Simply decadent.
