Last night, Jack & I got the opportunity to attend a fragrance launch at Sephora, Columbus Circle, for Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen's new line for Elizabeth & James, called NIRVANA. There are two perfumes in this collection, one called Black & the other called White.
The event included tables of gorgeous white flowers and glass vases filled with musk, sandalwood, vanilla, and violet. The perfumes were displayed out on these tables as well, packaged and unpackaged. I really love the sleek, rectangular packaging of each bottle.
Of course, they served delicious drinks and adorable appetizers. The event included a nail decal station, which I unfortunately did not have time to attend, but I thought it was a very clever idea for this type of event.
Another adorable detail were these cute fragrance hairties. Instead of receiving a sample slip of paper with the sprayed fragrance on it, the Sephora employees spritzed the perfumes on these adorable little hairties, small enough to be worn as rings. I thought this was a great idea because you were able to experience the scent a lot longer.

Finally, we got to chat and snap a photo with Mary-Kate & Ashley themselves! (My eight year old self would have been absolutely starstruck, considering I used to carry around my Mary-Kate and Ashley dolls everywhere). The girls are absolutely huge in the fashion and beauty world these days, and it was so awesome to get to see them in person. Elizabeth & James was launched in 2007, and is known to be a brand with the perfect balance of masculine and feminine. The brand aims for a sense of effortlessness and modernity as well (Sephora).
I picked up the two rollerball versions of white and black, and I'm super excited to start using them!
Black Nirvana is a sweet combination of violet, sandalwood, and vanilla. This is my personal favorite of the two because it's super soft yet totally potent. It's a perfect kind of sweet and sour scent, and it has a sophistication to it that's a little different than the White Nirvana. I think this is a super sexy, sweet, scent that girls will most definitely want in their perfume collection this spring and summer.
White Nirvana is a mix of muguet, peony, and musk. It smells exactly how it's described! Super sultry, deep, and nice. I think this scent is a lot closer to a cologne then a perfume because it's super masculine, but still has a little feminine flair with the peony.
Quick trick: mix both White & Black Nirvana for a perfect balance of sultry and sweet.

Um yes, my 8 year old self would've died as well - how awesome? Also, scented hairties..love it, such a cute idea!
