I think it would be appropriate to say that August is my favorite summer month. Why? Because I can get away with hints of fall in my wardrobe without it looking too absurd. Big hats, closed boots, button downs and short shorts create my staple August looks. Today, despite the heat, I did just that. I started with this black romper I purchased at UO, it's a bit big on me so I belted it with an old Abercrombie & Fitch brown belt with silver detail (I've referenced and talked about this belt before and I promise it's cute even though I cringe every time I say where it's from. Sorry, A&F). Underneath, I'm sporting the black version of my Aerie bralettes. I referenced these in my Lake George posts a few times- I'm still in love with them and they add a sweet delicate touch to any loose summer top. Finally, my mandarin collared shirt is c/o Free People. I love this thing! I wear it all seasons of the year and it truly matches a ton of different things. It's also super easy to style differently every time I wear it. I can pair it over a dress or romper like above, or button it up and tuck it into some skinny pants. It's perfect!
My necklace is a sweet delicate gold wishbone, and I purchased this with Miss Amanda earlier in the week at Forever 21. It adds a little elegance to the look while still keeping a trendy vibe. Additionally, my "Lydia Deetz" hat (that's what I've named it) is also from Forever 21. Finally.... drum roll please.... I introduce you to my brand new fall boots that I'll probably wear until they come apart. These are the Jeffrey Campbell Soulman Boots in Black Matte! I adore them so so dearly! I have to say, it was extremely hard to find a dupe for these anywhere else (can you believe that considering it's such a simple boot!). Otherwise, they're super comfortable and just that perfect kind of chic that I wanted for my fall wardrobe.

Which smoked with bloody execution,
Like valour's minion carved out his passage"
