Last week I attended the Charles James: Beyond Fashion Costume Exhibit at the MET, so I went with a casual, yet still elegantly detailed outfit. I paired my Brandy Melville jeans with this high collared buttoned up blouse from Forever 21. I threw on this cute army green military jacket from Free People to compliment the look and to keep warm on this chilly day.
To add some pop of color, I kept this maroon flowered crown from Forever 21 on my head (mainly to keep my wind-swept hair down) and added these fabulous vintage booties from Paris (c/o my mother!).
The exhibit contained incredible dresses and coats that were extremely innovative. I adored CJ's Butterfly + Clover dresses, and found his jackets and coats to be among my other favorites.
I loved the projections and computer screens detailing the construction of each garment, it made the exhibit extremely interactive and modern. CJ's quotes surrounding the garments were really cool as well, I particularly liked the one above: "All creative work begins by doing something with the hands. Creation is simply a problem and design is the way out."
